Mount Catur

History

An important spiritual landmark in Bali, Mount Catur is considered a sacred mountain and part of the island’s spiritual axis connecting mountains, temples, and the sea. Home to several smaller temples near its summit, locals make offerings and perform rituals. Rather than being known for eruptions, Mount Catur’s history is rooted in its cultural and spiritual significance, with generations of Balinese people viewing it as a place of balance, protection, and connection to the divine.
